Doodle

Stuck in a long, boring, essentially useless meeting?

Don’t be afraid to doodle.

No, you’re not fooling anyone into thinking you’re taking notes.

But it will keep you more present than thinking about how you can get a job that doesn’t require you to sit in long, boring, essentially useless meetings.

Bored teaching the basics

Teaching beginner concepts may bore the hell out of you.

Is this worth my time?

If you think about it in terms of money, it may not be. Or maybe in the long term, it is.

But the return on investment doesn’t fix your problem.

Recognizing the impact you’re making on someone who is at the same level you were not too long ago, however, does.

Tax Matters

Dear Tax Season,

Thanks for reminding me how annoying life can be.

But, more importantly, thanks for reminding me what parts of life actually matter.

Love,
Lenny the inactive CPA

Something From Nothing

The blank piece of paper. Or canvas. Or website. Or blog post. Or musical staff. Or movie frame. Or gameplan. Or menu. Or agenda.

Don’t worry about how it’s gonna turn out.

Just get something on there.

Then another.

And another.

Soon, you’ll have a new thing.

Sure, it’s probably nothing like you imagined it would be. It might be better or worse.

But you have something.

And that’s worth being proud of.

As a Matter of Fact

The things that matter and the things that don’t.

How do you differentiate?

Is it up to you? Is it up to them?

Does anything matter?

Focus on doing good things.

Then, I think, the matter sorts itself out.
